We All Live in this House

Whoa, I don't know
And I'll never tell you
Where… I'm going to
And…
And I'll never know
Where I live

And I know where to go
And I know where I live
And I know where to go
And I know where I live

We all live in this house
We're all one big family
And I don't care
If you're gonna stare
We're all there, hey!

Whoa, I don't know
And I'll never tell you
What… I'm gonna do
And…
And I'll never see
Where I'll be

[chorus]

We all live in this house
We all live in this house
We all live in this house
We all live in this house

Words and music by Peter Forrest

Year Written: 1981 (Sarnia, Ontario CANADA)
Date Recorded: 1986 (4-track, Montreal, Québec CANADA)
Musicians: Peter Forrest (guitar and vocals), John McGrath (bass), François Dubeau (drums)

Song Notes: This song was Peter Forrest's first rock song ever written.  It was originally made up on the spot by Pete with Trent drumming on the back of an acoustic guitar.  It was a great live song that was fun to play so it eventually made it in the original Montreal recordings.  There used to be funny lines in the song like, "Our cat's name is Tuffy, she chases mouse."  This song was part of the first Vee Gates Montreal demo.

Basic Guitar Chords:

Opening: (single note tremolos: b, c#, e, f#)
Verses: B, A
Bridge: E, D (jangly power chords)
Chorus: B, A
